SALES
INCENTIVE PROGRAMS
An incentive program can help those employees whose sales
are suffering slightly to be extra motivated to turn things
around. You will want to implement a program to boost sales
and offer different incentives for excellent performance.
A theme is important to the overall impact of the program.
It provides the continuity and identity needed to effectively
and efficiently communicate with the participants. The overall
program should support increasing sales and create a better
work environment through teamwork.
Incremental Incentives
To motivate employees whose sales aren't raising the bar,
a multi-piece desk set can be offered, with a different
piece given out for most sales in a week or most improvement
shown. You can also put together a
certificate program where point certificates are handed
to employees as they meet a goal or are praised for a job
well done. They can then save up these point certificates
for brand name gift items.
Top Sellers
Top sellers should be rewarded for their time and efforts.
Top sellers will be working around the clock, so an extra-special
timepiece
would be the perfect desk accent. When employees are making
sales on the go, a leather
briefcase for their laptop, debossed with the recipient's
name is the perfect thank you for a job well done.
Items to Keep the Program Alive
Whether your top incentive gift is a trip to Hawaii or a
week at a resort the items you give away to your employees
at your kick off, and on a consistent basis as a reminder
of the program should reflect your theme. People tend to
stay on task better when there is continual reinforcement.
Over time, people can tend to forget about the program,
so make sure to keep additional theme related items around
the office, and hand them out at sales meetings. These can
be as inexpensive
as pens (every person needs one to get those contracts signed),
mints and shirts
or caps printed with your theme or goal. Salespeople
get stressed, so to help them relax keep on hand some fun
shape stress relievers.
At
the end of the program, have a meeting to measure the results
and evaluate what can be done next time to make the program
even better.
